ALL ABOUT TANNING

Sunbed Tanning Tips are to help you TAN SAFELY and get the DARKEST TAN POSSIBLE: –
Look after you skin between sessions.

  • Determine your skin type.

  • Remove all forms of makeup and cosmetics.

  • Always wear a Tanning Cream! Always wear eye-protection!

  • A perfect tan does not happen in one session but needs to be achieved.

  • How often can you go - Depending on your skin color, in general the average person can develop a base tan in 3-6 sessions which then can be maintained with regular sunbed use.

  • Two/Three sessions a week should be enough to further deepen your tan in a safe and gentle manner.

  • If you simply want to maintain the tan you already have (for example, when you get back from holiday), then one/Two sessions a week will probably be enough.

  • It is very important to leave a minimum of 24 – 48 hours between each session so that your skin has the chance to rest and regenerate between sessions.

  • By caring for your skin in this way you can avoid burning or brown spots, which can happen if you spend too long on a sunbed.

  • Also, your tan will be a better colour and should last longer.

TINGLE LOTIONS

NOT FOR BEGINNERS OR THE FAINT HEARTED

Tingle lotions do what they say on the tin – they give your skin a tingling sensation after applying the lotion. Why do they do this? Basically, the lotion brings the blood to the surface of your skin to boost the effect that UV rays have, thus allowing you to achieve a deeper, darker tan much quicker.

Tingle lotions are perfect for people who are looking to achieve an extremely deep tan and are not at all suitable for beginners. Be careful – as tingle lotions should not be used by people with sensitive skin.

Tip – Don’t be shocked if your skin is red after application, as it will be for roughly an hour or two . It may look like you’re sunburnt, but the redness will fade quickly.

THE MYTH’S OF
INDOOR TANNING

Tanning salon use of sunbeds causes skin cancer – wrong – There is NO CONCLUSIVE SCIENTIFIC research to suggest that the use of sunbeds is accompanied with a higher risk of skin cancer.

Research has shown that in countries with the most annual sunshine, there are the fewest cases of Colon, Prostate and Breast Cancer – thus refuting the link between UV light and cancer CONVEYED by the MEDIA.

Some people are more at risk than others. Heredity plays a major role. If your mother, father, siblings, or children (first-degree relatives) have had a melanoma, you are part of a melanoma-prone family. Each person with a first-degree relative diagnosed with melanoma has a 50 percent greater chance of developing the disease than members of the general public who do not have a family history of the disease. If the cancer occurred in a grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle, niece, or nephew (second-degree relatives), there is still an increase in risk compared to the general population, though it is not as great.

☛There is no difference between natural sunlight and sunbeds; tanning salon sunbeds produce the same UV light as the sun.

☛Cancer – thus refuting the link between UV light and Cancer conveyed by the media.
☛Scientific studies suggest that drinking red wine or other alcoholic beverages carries a greater cancer risk than tanning.
☛Sunbed use in itself has a number of health benefits. It is overexposure to UV light that causes health risks.
